Professor David Berridge

Biography

David joined the School in September 2005 having previously been Research Director at the National Children's Bureau and Research Fellow at the Dartington Social Research Unit. 

He is a leading national and international child welfare researcher and is author/co-author of 13 books and numerous other chapters and articles. He began his career as a residential social worker with adolescents. His current research is focusing on the educational attainment and progress of children in need and children in care.

David has also acted as children's services adviser to the House of Commons Education Select Committee. He was awarded the OBE in January 2005 for services to children.
