Research summary

Miguel Delibes is one of the most important post-war novelists in Spain. He belongs to a generation that experienced the devastating consequences of the Spanish Civil war. This period of dramatic social, economic and political change in Spain had a profound impact upon his writing and is intimately reflected in the themes, language and form of his writing. This research project will explore why Delibes has maintained and defended the use of realism in his fiction through a selection of his novels. Miriam Munoyerro, originally from Ávila (Spain), joined the School of Modern Languages of the University of Bristol as Lectora in September 2008.

She started teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language after finishing her Degree at the University of Salamanca in 2004.

She graduated in English at the University of Salamanca (2004) and also completed the Primer Ciclo of Spanish Studies in the same university, taking courses such as la Enseñanza del español como lengua extranjera (Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language) and Applied Linguistics.
