Ms Beatriz Arias


Ms Arias currently teaches Spanish for General and Specific Purposes to first and second year students from the Engineering, Science, Social Science and Law faculties as part of the Study in Continental Europe programme and to students from all faculties as an Open Unit. She also taught Spanish over several years to second year students of Medicine as part of the Language for Medical Studies programme.

Ms Arias also has experience teaching Spanish to undergraduates in the 1st and 2nd Year of the degree programme at the Department of Hispanic, Portuguese and Latin American Studies, and in 2016-17 she taught the content unit Spanish for Business to undergraduates in the 4th Year of the degree programme.

Her academic interests are within the fields of language acquisition, blending e-learning with face-to-face teaching, assessment and feedback methods, and her research interest is in the area of using screencasting software to provide audio-visual feedback and the pedagogical benefit of teaching through feedback.
