Area of research

Investigating the use of Synthetic Vision as a tool for Archaeological Prospection in Woodlands

Summary

Biography

I am a professional engineer with 30 years experience in the defence industry specialising in sensors and battlespace information systems.

I have been a keen community archaeologist for many years having excavated on a range of sites ranging from Roman roads, a Saxon settlement, a First World War aerodrome and most recently some very peculiar aqueducts. Recently I have developed an keen interest in Ancient Woodlands having encounted within them a number of very interesting sites that have never been fully investigated. Having gained first hand experience of the difficulties of recording woodland sites I'm now trying to apply some of my professional skills to this archaeological problem.
