Research

My research is focused on meteoric, freshwater, diagenesis in modern carbonate environments by studying the water-rock interactions.  The key aspect I am trying to understand is how the porosity (the holes formed in the rock) and the permeability (how connected these holes are) develop over time.  By using the combined approach of fieldwork characterisation and reactive transport modelling, I can obtain short term observations of the water geochemistry and use these to populate longer term models.

Fields of interest

Biogeochemistry, Carbonate diagenesis, Reactive transport modelling, Meteoric diagenesis, Transformations of dissolved organic carbon, Hydrogeology, Geochemical processes, Hydrological monitoring
