Biography

Sophie graduated from the University of Bristol with a BSc in Biology in 2008 and then joined the University's Professional Service team. She currently works for the Industrial Liaison Office (ILO), based in the Faculty of Engineering. Joining the ILO team in September 2010 as a research administrator for the FP7 FFAST project, before moving to the High Performance Networks (HPN) group in May 2013.  Working for the HPN group led by Professor Dimitra Simeonidou from May 2013 - January 2016, she supported the groups large research portfolio lo including the coordination of the CONTENT: Convergence of wireless Optical Network and IT REources IN SupporT of cloud services (EC FP7- ICT)  (http://content-fp7.eu/) and TOUCAN: Towards Ultimate Convergence of All Networks (5 year EPSRC, Programme Grant) projects. In January 2016, she started a position as a Project Manager, a role which focuses on developing research enagement with Bristol Is Open Ltd. Bristol Is Open is a joint venture between the University of Bristol and Bristol City Council. The project launched in April 2015 and will provide Bristol City with a fully flexible, programmable and open ICT experimental platform.
