Biography

I am employed part-time by the University of Bristol and additionally work in a freelance capacity beyond the Centre for English Language and Foundation Studies (CELFS). At the University of Bristol, I am a Personal Tutor and teach English for Academic Purposes (EAP) on the year-round International Foundation Programme (IFP), as well as Physics link and Maths Link. I instruct on the summer Pre-sessional programme and then throughout the year I also deliver on the Learning English for Academic Development (LEAD) programme: English for Engineers, Academic Listening and Speaking (ALS) and Advanced English (ADV) course as part of the Advanced English Language Studies as well as facilitating Academic Language and Literacy (ALL) for University of Bristol MSc Economics and Finance students, MA Film and TV, MA Law and MA Education students. 

Profile:  

I was born and educated in the UNESCO world heritage city of Bath, where I spend most of my time thriving and ensconced in a multitude of wide-ranging personal projects as well as being engaged in a freelance capacity overseas when away from University of Bristol. have travelled extensively, having lived and worked abroad in Australia, North America, North Africa and Europe. I have taught English to overseas students since 2000 and taught EAP at University of Bristol in CELFS since 2013, prior to which I taught at the University of Bath. I am in possession of wide and varied experience including management, examining and business training. I possess acquired and evolved skills in delivering EAP, English for Business and General English as well as English for exams Preparation (Cambridge and IELTS). I am on the board of International ESOL examiners for Trinity College London and for whom I additionally examine Secure English Language Tests (SELTs) approved by UKVI, part of the Home Office. am an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and will have completed studying towards the full HEA Fellowship in 2018.
