Timothy's research interests are centred in the performance challenges of Conformal Antenna Array Design. Conformal Antenna Arrays are employed in a wide range of functions, from Aerospace and Defence to Medical Imaging. It is proposed that a coherent understanding of the effects of aperture curvature on the performance of antenna arrays will allow a wider range of use cases for conformal arrays, at a reduced cost and risk to the designer and hence the end user.
Timothy graduated with an Masters of Physics from the University of Surrey, following a research year at the Holifield Radioactive Ion Beam Facility at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee. After 3 years as a Systems Engineer with MBDA, Timothy has completed a PhD in Communications with the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Communications, under the supervision of Dr Geoffrey Hilton, Professor Christopher Railton, and Dr Evangelos Mellios Timothy holds a Full UK Amateur Radio License under the callsign M0LYX.
