Research summary

My main areas of research interest are the design and development of new and novel methods of radio frequency power amplification. These methods are intended to provide the required levels of linearity to support a wide range of standards and also to be efficient enough to reduce significantly the power consumption of radio networks and can also to be used in mobile applications where power consumption is required to be kept to a minimum. Current research is looking at new and novel methods of designing multimode amplifier linearisation systems which are capable of linearly transmitting multiple standards with minimum power ...

Professor Morris currently holds the post of Professor of Radio Frequency Engineering at the University of Bristol. He received his B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in electronics and communications engineering from the University of Bristol in 1995 and 2000, respectively. He is  the principle investigator on a 5 year collaborative EPSRC project between the Universities of Cardiff and Bristol. The object of this project is the rigorous design of efficient power amplifiers for use in future communications systems. He also leads a three year industrially funded project in the area of efficient linear amplifier design. He has authored or ...
