Personal profile

Sara holds the position of a Teaching Associate at the Department of Econmics.

Sara graduated with BSc (Hons.) degree in Economics from the University of Bristol. Upon graduation, she joined the NHS to train as an accountant but later moved back into education to pursue a research and teaching career in higher education.

Sara completed her MSc in Islamic Finance (with Distinction) from Aston Business School, Aston University and holds a PhD in Economics from the School of Business and Economics, Loughborough University

Sara’s research interest are primarily in banking and specifically Islamic banking. She pursues interdisciplinary research, bringing in theories and methods from Economics, Accounting and Finance and recently, from the Strategy literature to inform her research.
