Personal profile

Claire started her career in the IT industry where she trained and held a variety of commercial roles as a CIMA qualified accountant. Later, whilst working in Airbus and then the not-for-profit sector, Claire studied for her Masters in Social Science with the Open University.

Claire is currently a lecturer of Management Accounting, and Business Ethics, where she is particularly keen on encouraging students to think about the changing role of accountants, how they might contribute to tackling social and environmental challenges and the skill sets they need.

Claire is currently teaching on the following units:

Undergraduate: Management Accounting for Strategy (EFIM30035)

Postgraduate: Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility (MGRCM2014)

Postgraduate: Finance and Accounting for Management (ECONM1015)

 

Claire is also a Senior Tutor supporting Master's students and the Director of Employability for Accounting and Finance students.

Fields of interest

Claire has recently started a PhD, where she is exploring the career histories of NGO accountants, and who or what has influenced their choices. Claire's other research interests include alternative forms of accounting, values based organisations and accounting education.
