Dr Maria Davies

I came to the Dental Hospital in 1991 a year after gaining my degree in Biological Sciences from the University of East Anglia.  I started out as a research technician in what was then, the Department of Child Dental Health and, following a move to Oral Medicine completed my PhD in 1998.  Since the introduction of the Human Tissue Act 2004 I have managed the human tissues used for research within the Dental School and am the Designated Individual on our licence.  I am also a point of contact for staff and students completing ethics applications, providing advice and guidance. In 2010 I moved into the field of hard tissue biology and become a member of the Clinical Trials Unit.
