Dr Charlotte Atkinson

Biography

I graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1996 with a BSc (Hons) in Food and Human Nutrition.  I then completed my PhD in Nutrition at the University of Cambridge in 2000, after which I began a postdoc at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC) in Seattle, WA.  In 2002 I became a Staff Scientist at FHCRC, and in 2007 I moved to Bristol to take up a post as Lecturer in Nutrition within the School of Oral and Dental Sciences. I moved to a Research Fellow role in 2012 and became a Senior Research Fellow in 2013.  As well as being a member of the Lifecourse Epidemiology and Population Oral Health (LEPOH) research group, I help run the perioperative nutrition theme of the Bristol Nutrition Biomedical Research Unit (PI Andy Ness).
