Dr Victor Ponce Lopez

I am a Honorary Research Fellow in the Dept. of Computer Science at the University of Bristol. I have been a Research Scientist in Eurecat at the Big Data Analytics Unit. I obtained my Ph.D. in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Barcelona. I received my B.S. degree in Computer Science at this university and the M.Sc. degree in Artificial Intelligence at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. I have been member of the research groups HuPBA and SUNAI at the Computer Vision Center and Open University of Catalonia. I was a visiting researcher at the Laboratoire d'Informatique Fondamentalle (LIF), Aix-Marseille Université, having close collaboration with recognized people both in the research field of machine learning and well-known companies such as Microsoft, NVIDIA, Google, Facebook, Amazon and Disney. I was member of the program committee of the ChaLearn Looking At People, which is involved in challenges and competitions machine learning and affective computing. I have participated in the organization of events, courses and activities of knowledge transfer, scientific challenges and workshops in several conferences. I have contributed in more than 40 publications and peer-reviewing processes in impact factor journals and conference proceedings. I have co-organized events, challenges and workshops in several conferences: ICCV2011, ICMI2013, CCIA2014, ECCV2014-2016, ICPR2016, and ICCV2017. I have participated in peer-reviewing processes for impact factor journals and conference proceedings in JMLR2014, TMultimedia2014, TPAMI2016, IET-CVI2016-2017, TTAC2017, ECCV2014-2016, ICCV2015-2017, CVPR2016-2017, and FG2017-2018. My main interests of research are the fields of computer vision, pattern recognition, and evolutionary computation applied to behavior analysis and social computing. My research fields of interest are computer vision, machine learning, pattern recognition, evolutionary computation and behaviour analysis.
