Tim (Timotius) Kasim is a Lecturer in Accounting. Tim holds a Doctorate degree (DPhil) from the University of Oxford and a Master's degree (MSc) from the LSE.

Tim's research interest concerns the role of accounting in constructing a sustainable business. In his current research projects, Tim explores this issue from organisational, standard-setting, and regulatory perspectives. From an organisational perspective, Tim examines the role of carbon reporting in enabling corporate managers to make sense of the significance of climate change and construct plausible economic arguments for justifying carbon management practices in an organisational setting that is oriented toward financial performance. From a standard-setting perspective, Tim's research explores the harmonisation of sustainability reporting standards with financial reporting standards and assesses the benefit and the drawback of those types of harmonisation work. From a regulatory perspective, Tim's research examines the regulation of non-financial reporting and identifies the role of financial reporting regulator in challenging the taken-for-granted assumptions about financial reporting to allow the expansion of the boundary of accounting into the non-financial reporting space.
